Warning: Text heavy post. No fun bathing suit pictures, sorry! Also, some of these are personal, but we are all cool here, right?
Ok, so in September I turn 25! I can’t believe it. One day I was sitting in a meeting, and I had a thought…it went something like this, “Deeana, you have quite a few goals to accomplish this year, you should make a list of 25 things big and small to do before your 25th birthday!” So at that moment, I started writing down the things I already knew I needed to accomplish and added some other things I’ve always wanted to do to the list.
- Complete all requirement for my Master’s Program
I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. Normally, I am a school geek. However, this journey has been kicking me in the butt! Balancing a full-time job and school is not as easy as it looks. Working all day long then being in class until 8:30 is challenging enough and adding Sunday classes to the equation just makes things even more difficult. Accomplishing this goal is at the top of my list!
- Lose 25 pounds
Because I have fat in the “right” places (butt and thighs) no one thinks I’m fat…but the truth of the matter is I am, and I sure do feel it every time I climb the stairs! I will never be skinny nor do I want to be, but dropping some pounds is something I need to do. Don’t get me wrong, I love my body, and we should love our bodies no matter our current weight, but I love my body enough to want it to be better. If I lose less I will still be happy; I decided on 25 to just keep with the 25 theme.
- Start a blog
If you’re reading this, I’ve already accomplished this goal! Yay me. My close friends know that I’ve always wanted to start a blog. I am a perfectionist, so I did not want to start until everything was perfect, but I realized I was only afraid. I hate putting myself out there for others to have an opportunity to judge me. People can be so mean, and the thought was scary. Thankfully, I have friends who pushed me to do this, and so far, the love I have received is simply overwhelming!
- Make my mom’s birthday special
My mom is the most Selfless and hardworking person I know. I never heard my mom ask for anything, ever! There is nothing I can do ever to repay her, but this year on her birthday I want to do all I can to make her feel like a queen. My mom lives in Dominica, and I live in the U.S so this is going to take a lot of effort, but I have a few plans up my sleeve -stay tuned.
- Read five new books of the Bible
We all need some more Jesus in our lives! Whenever I told tell my aunt, “my phone is so dry, no one texts me today” she would always respond saying, “The Bible has thousands of “text” just waiting for me to read them!” She is right!
I would like to hear your goals for the year, let’s hold each other accountable!
As always, thanks for reading.
