Thank you, Mama!

Thank you, Mama.

bday 2

For the nine months you physically carried me, and for how you have carried me emotionally since then I thank you. This past week was incredibly special for mothers around the world, but it has been particularly special for my mom. She celebrated her birthday and Mother’s Day. So, it’s only right that I dedicate today’s post to her! In my last blog post, I mentioned that one of my goals was to make my mom’s birthday special and I am so happy my plans all went well. My mom lives in Dominica, and I live in the U.S so planning everything took some extra effort but seeing the smile on her face made it all worth it.

My mom was so surprised when she saw me. Only two other people knew I was coming (shout out to Kayla and Joseph for helping my plan work out so smoothly) When I walked up to her vehicle she screamed! It was perfect!

Whenever I go home, I always have so many things to do, but this time I dedicated most of my time to her. We went to the beach every morning, had dinner together and just did all the mother-daughter things she wanted to do…which included me giving her a massage every night! Not my favorite part but hey, I aim to please.

For her actual birthday, we had a party with close family and friends. Everyone had a great night, and the love displayed for my mom was touching. I got her quite a few presents that I knew she would like and she appreciated it all. My mom deserves the world. She has worked tirelessly to provide my needs and all of my wants. She always puts the needs of others above her own. Although I am her only child, she has been a mother figure to so many other people. I am so privileged to have her as my mom. I am the person I am today, solely because of her. My ultimate goal in life as cliché as it may sound is to make my mom happy. I want her to kick her feet up and relax because I got her! It’s the least I can do.

So to my mom, although you may never read this I want the world to know that I love you.

There is nothing compared to mothers love, so we need to show them that they are appreciated. On mother’s day and every other day in between. To the mom’s reading,  keep on being a great example to your children.

I would love to read about how you made your mom feel special on Mother’s day.

As always, thanks for reading,

Love,

Dee
