This past weekend I visited my Alma Mater, Oakwood University to celebrate my best friend Rilene’s graduation. Oakwood is an HBCU, and at every gathering everyone comes to slay! I wanted to wear something stylish but comfortable. I opted for the suit from Premme Premme is a plus size clothing line by Plus size blogger Gabi Fresh. In this post I’m showing you how to take an outfit from day to night.
For the day part of the graduation, I wanted a more dressy look. The jacket of the suit is way too big for me and I still wanted to wear it so I cinched it in with my Gucci belt. A belt is the perfect accessory to take your outfit to the next level. I wore these simple Steve Madden Sandals. I’ve had these shoes for over 3 years. They are so comfortable. Whenever I want to wear heels and I know I’ll be doing a lot of standing/ walking I always reach for these shoes
Because Oakwood is extra, there is another ceremony in the evening. I packed light for this trip so I planned on using the same outfit for the 2nd service. The second service is really long so I wanted to be very comfortable and laid back. Here’s what I came up with.
I took my jacket off and I am wearing the same body suit that I wore in the morning. I switched my heels for some Adidas Superstars. Superstars are one of the most comfortable sneakers I own. My feet thanked me for getting out of the heels. I also changed my lip color from nude to bright pink and added some hoop earrings. The night time look is more playful but just as cute in my opinion.
Which look is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!

I had a work banquet a few weeks ago and of course I had to share my outfit in the group chat for approval. When I showed my cousins my dress my cousin Amanda showed me her online shopping cart and we realized we have the same dress !
This ASOS dress is what the young people would refer to as EVERYTHING! It’s comfortable and flattering. Wedding season is coming up and it’s the perfect wedding dress! I got so many compliments when I wore this dress and so did Amanda.
I know lots of people don’t like when others have the same clothing as them, but I couldn’t care less! This just showed me that we both have a great sense of style…you know what they say, great minds think a like! Dare I ask who wore it better? Kidding, we both slayed!

I did my first poll on Instagram and asked what you guys wanted to see from my trip to the Bahamas. Outfits or Activities. The poll was pretty close so I’ll do a mix of both, win win right?
Two weeks ago, my best friend, cousin and I went to Nassau for the weekend and we had a blast! Honestly, if there is sunshine and the beach a good time is bound to happen.

For my 25th birthday I planned a trip to Cancun with my best friends. Unfortunately, mother nature had different plans. Three days before the trip we had to cancel due to the weather conditions in Mexico. I was honestly extremely disappointed, because I was planning this trip for months now. My friends still wanted to do something with me and we literally went online and searched “islands not affected by the hurricane.” St. Lucia was one of those islands. All of my friends could not make it, but I was so grateful my faithful travel buddy and best friend of over 10 years, Kyla was able to make the trip!

I saw this dress on my Instagram feed and instantly fell in love. I loved the sparkle and shine and thought it would be perfect for my 25th birthday dinner. I quickly went to Fashion Nova to take a closer look at the dress. The more I looked at it the more I felt discouraged. I looked at the back and realized it was relatively open. I know I’ve been working out but I still have a very stubborn back roll that does not want to go away. How would back fat look with that dress? The cut is very low which meant I couldn’t wear a bra with it. Where would my breast go? I had never gone bra-less before. Also, I looked at the length and thought my thighs was simple too big for such a short dress. I literally felt like I was having an internal battle.
I am always encouraging people to love their body, yet here I was putting myself down. What I’ve learned is the journey to self-love never ends. Some days I walk pass the mirror and I’m like damn girl have you been squatting? Other days I rather not look in the mirror. As I continue to work for the body I want I will love the one that I have.
So, I bought the dress and this happened:
So, what’s that outfit you’ve been eyeing but refuse to buy cause some part of your body is just too big? After reading this post go to that website and make that purchase cause afterall, life is short…just buy the dress.
