For my 25th birthday I planned a trip to Cancun with my best friends. Unfortunately, mother nature had different plans. Three days before the trip we had to cancel due to the weather conditions in Mexico. I was honestly extremely disappointed, because I was planning this trip for months now. My friends still wanted to do something with me and we literally went online and searched “islands not affected by the hurricane.” St. Lucia was one of those islands. All of my friends could not make it, but I was so grateful my faithful travel buddy and best friend of over 10 years, Kyla was able to make the trip!
This past weekend was one of my best friend’s birthday, and of course, we had to celebrate! Initially we wanted to do something international, unfortunately, that did not work out. Before this “staycation” I always felt like I had to get on a plane in order to experience new places, but this weekend proved otherwise.
Recently I visited the only perfect place left on earth-Dominica (don’t argue with me). If you haven’t visited before, you need to take a trip. You will not be disappointed. I am a bit biased because that is my home, but it is genuinely the Caribbean’s best-kept secret. God did not hold back when creating such a beautiful place.
Location: Chaudiere Pool
If anyone knows me, they know that I come alive in the Caribbean; I am a true island girl so when my friend needed to take a business trip to Barbados I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tag along.
I am a planner. Whenever I travel, I like to have a full itinerary for every day. I am flexible to change things, but I like to have a good idea what I will be doing. That also helps me to not only budget my trip, but planning also helps me pack appropriate things (I will probably still over pack, but that’s beside the point)
